I really want to get one of these 2 TVs, but I can’t find any reviews on the web (other than user reviews). For example, CNET has not reviewed these.
Anyone know anything about these and does anyone think it’s a bad idea getting a TV that hasn’t been officially reviewed anywhere on the web?
1) Sony Bravia 46" 1080p LCD HDTV** (KDL46V3000). This is a great looking TV from Best Buy in Toronto and its only $2,000. Only problem is that it has 2 HDMI slots and not 3. CNET just a has a product description and says that it has not had a hands on with it.
2) LG 47" 1080p Widescreen LCD HDTV** (47LY3D). This TV is avaiable at Future Shop stores in Toronto (they are like Best Buy) and it is called a "Future Shop Exclusive TV". This is probably the reason I can barely find any information online about it. Being a model that is only at Future Shop, I am concerned about whether its maybe a dud model or something. Looks incredible though and its only $2,000.
Thanks for any information.
I watched ther super bowl on this exact Sony at a friends house-it’s a great set. I have the 40" 720P version, and I’m very happy with it.
I suspect the Sony is a higher quality set than the LG.

Hi , I have a Sony Bravia XBR 40" HDTV. I have been trying to get the closed caption on in the tv but doesnt seem to work. I have the TV set for 4 modes. Video1-PS3, 2-Blank , 3-DVD , video4-TV. When i go into Menu-Settings-and in captions , I have options cc1,cc2,..cc4, text1..txt4. However, nothing seem so to bring the CC on for programs. Can anyone help pls?
The only CCs that the TV do come from broadcast programs (antenna input). The other sources have their own CC and you have to select it from the DVD player or PS3. However, if you are receiving broadcast TV through the antenna, you should be able to select CC, but do it while tuned to that input. Cable and satellite boxes also generate their own CC and must be activated on their menus.

we have a Sony Bravia tv and a sony blu ray player
we’ll go to bed at night with the tv on channel seven, and sometimes we wake up and its on channel seven, and sometimes its on the hdmi blu ray channel…
is this normal? is there any way i can turn it off if it is?
i turn off the tv at night… while its set to channel 7. i dont leave it on all night.
why do you leave the tv on at night seresouly that just a waste of money and its pointless, your tv will last 2 tmes less cause you use it so much

The Sony Bravia TV is overall the best LCD on the market. Its great for playing games and watching TV. The only TV I found that was above the Sony Bravia for playing games was the Panasonic Vera plasma TV.
